Backlog

Here's what happened in the past week.

- On the 24th, my dad recieved a PIKB (Pingat Indah Kerja Baik) medal from His Majesty the Sultan. Sorry for being late for this, and not thinking of it every so often, but I'm proud of you, dad.

- My sis has started work at the Ministry of Finance this week. Nya, I'll be home late on Saturdays...

- I got my Form 6 books from Boh back. What books? The Science 1/2 books, that's what! All 3 Yasmi Publishing Productions books, with all my lovely creativity inside. I'm to embarrased to read a good part of it though, what with all the smut/lemon 18SX episodes. Not to mention how horrible my Japanese was back then.

- I rebounded. I'm not conceding defeat though - I found out I don't tire when climbing flights of stairs anymore, just to name a few improvements I'm feeling. Right now I'm trying to find some belt punchers for my belts. I can't believe my tummy was THAT big... What's worse is that my loose cotton trousers are getting too large for me, too.

- UBD will have a fourth year for CS. This was guaranteed for red/green IC holders in my class, but there is still no definite word with some of us' situations - not a yes for our twinning programme to Strathclyde, but not a no and we have to stay, either.

- At a rate of 85 minutes for $5, TelBru's WAVE is terribly expensive. To give a comparison, Wetszone is 12 hours for $20 and 14 hours of the same price for DST's Hotspot. It claims you can logon from anywhere in Brunei, but the damn prepaid card isn't even sold anywhere.

- I'm thinking of starting a classroom-cleaning campaign at FOS. I think I'm well-known by class early-comers (not lecturers, sadly) for cleaning/setting up the classroom for lecturers to begin the class quickly. Stay tuned for the appearance of the UBD superhero G-1 and his Wandering Classroom Optimiser.

- I registered in the FOS forum that was at first, thought to be exclusive for lecturers. My intake will be remembered for a lot of things, some bad some good but I'm still happy to be in such a league.

To continue with the OTHER sad story...

So after 3 days of virtually not eating anything and walking around like some sort of n00b fitness freak I rolled on the floor at night and thought I'd die.

Then I suddenly started to realise how stupid I was - and how right everyone else has been.

I haven't felt lighter than I have for awhile - but I know I have to eat. The question is control. Uncontrollable, indisciplined eating made me overweight all my life - and just a simple resisting of the temptation to gobble up everything I see can make miracles.

I'm far from happy though - as you often observe, food makes me happy. Eating is one of the wonders of living, and I am ever so grateful to be able to eat everything there is. Now I just need to feel what the other people in this world may be feeling. It may be a rocky, evil, and very depressing road, but I'm beginning to see the light at the end.

Now to get back to kicking the lovely old white piece of sphere plastic after gaining this good momentum on my fitness.

Just putting this up so that everyone will bug me to be in it from now on.

I'm not doing this for myself, it's for you all who want to see one less eyesore all the time.

Let your wild eyes reflect a neverending tomorrow

"Happy birthday, Yasti!!!" Everyone in the house sang in unison, as Yasti blew the birthday candles, not forgetting her birthday wish.

It was 19 December, the date Yasmi's younger sister was born. At the age of 15, Noryasti was a charming young lady, her sweet dimples decorate her nice smile. If taught properly, she'd be a nice dancer too - a shame that her mathematical skills are the point of everyone's concern instead.

The birthday party was a very lively affair - a Sushi Cake was on the table amongst other delicacies, and the guests consisting of Yasmi's extended family and some of her friends heartily dined in, after hours of anticipation.
"I want more! More California Roll!" Yasri, her other brother exclaimed.
"Ah, Coke Lime tastes so nice..." the other brother Yasmi takes another sip. (Author's Note: It's worth mentioning Yasmi bought a carton of Coke Lime bottles a few days after.)
"So... do you wanna open your presents now?" Their mother asked the birthday girl, still nibbling on a salmon sushi before replying.
"Ermm... hehe, just a sec."

A load of birthday presents was on the large table in the living room. They were from her friends and family, high and low, in nice wrappers Mom would love to recycle like she always does.

Before this, Yasmi snuck in his own present - in a nice heart-shaped box, accompanied by a birthday card - on the table. He felt deeply guilty for his siblings' nice gesture on his own birthday, so he made a vow to return the favour next time round, starting with today.

"Oh, I know who this is from~," Yasti enthusiastingly said. The card was half in Japanese writing. "Bro~!"
"Ah? Oh, yea." Hearing the birthday girl call his name, Yasmi came to her side. "I hope you don't mind... You said anything as long as it's sincere, right?"
"Uh... yeah," she said, and opened the box. She gasped.
"Oooooh..." Mom and Noryasni, the elder sister, also aghast. "Yasmi, what in the world?"
"Huh?" Yasmi sheepishly looked away.
"Bro... It's really beautiful, but... you're not gonna fall on your knees and ask my hand in marriage, are you?"
"*pfffff*" Yasri choked and splurted his own Coke Lime, and Aunt Hamidah did the same on her tea.
"Oi...," Yasmi started to try and clear the air. "That's the Sagittarius Ring. You know, the enchanted Zodiac Rings which exist around here in Lumut..."
"Hmm..." Everyone stared at the much-coveted artifact. It has a Sagittarius Zodiac symbol engraved inside the prominent lapis lazuli gemstone, fine-cutted and firmly-embroidered on the golden-banded ring.
"Didn't Safoora got one?" Sis asked Yasmi.
"Yea. But this one I found lying around when the contractors were doing the Lumut makeovers around the beach."
"But Bro... I don't have any... powers," Yasti stated, "I can't even throw a punch properly, much less ever hold a weapon."
"It's okay Yasti, Brunei needs less heroes, and the villains are being ever so quiet or dead anyway." Yasmi then took the ring and fitted it on her right ring finger, and it dimly glows, accustoming it to its new owner.

The night continued merrily, as everyone chatted, played or ate till their heart's content.

Months later, on a cold, blustery night.
"(Mmm... I'm hungry, better cook for myself now...)" Yasti opened her eyes, clutching her belly. She lazily looked at the clock, it was 1:24 AM.
She closed the bedroom quietly and tried to flick the staircase's lamp switch.
"Eh?" She flicked it up and down, but no light shone. Thinking the bulb must be the problem, she ventured down the flight of stairs in the dark...
"(Funny... why is it getting darker?)" she thought. She was puzzled at the number of steps she already took, too - the stairs should be 19 steps down, but she's approaching 40.

Suddenly, at the 50th step...
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" she screamed, as the 51st step was missing and in its place was a deep, dark, endless pit...
Her screams got louder as she plunged further...

...

"Oboro... Oboro!" a manly voice spoke.
"...Huh? What?" Yasti opened her eyes again, this time to an unfamiliar sight. She saw the night sky, with its twinkling stars, the full moon illuminating everything to it's limits. She was lying on the ground, on a grass field, beside a man carrying a samurai sword. She was wearing a pink yukata.
"Oboro! Are you all right?" You fainted suddenly before I knew it-"
"Who are you?" she asked. "Where am I?"
"Huh...? Did you fall on your head and catch amnesia?" the man said. He had a lengthy beard, and looked muscularly built.
"I don't know! Where's Mom? I'm scared...!" Yasti cried out.
"*sigh*... I will protect you. You may have forgotten for now but I'm Giontoji, the Basilisk Samurai."
"...Uhhhh... and what did you call me?"
"You're Oboro, my companion."
"I'm sorry, but my name is Noryasti, not Oboro." After minutes of arguing, Giontoji gave up.
"Okay okay fine. Yasti, is it? Okay Yasti, we need to get away from here. People are chasing us in weird caravans, and they're... faaaaast."
"How fast?" Yasti asked, but just as she wondered, droves of white, red, blue, black, green, yellow, silver and even pink Kijang vans magically appeared, and circled them.
"What the..." Yasti said, recalling something, "Say, are they... headhunters?" Giontoji nodded, and Yasti put a palm on her face. If she is in a nightmare, this is one of the worst...

Wicked, vicious, bloodthirsty headhunters came out of the cars and wielded their scythes, expecting another success. In return, Giontoji brandished his sword.
"Don't come near... I have the best ninja techniques (ninpou) of my Kouga Clan!" he exclaimed at the attackers.
"Uuuuu... help meeeee..." Yasti whined, hiding behind Giontoji's back. The headhunters chuckled, as they edged closer.

"I guess I'll have to use it... Yasti! Close your eyes, don't open them till I tell you!" Giontoji commanded her. Yasti abided, and closed her eyes and even ears, just in case.
"Ninpou, Kouga-style! (Kouga-ryuu!) Basilisk Eyes!" Giontoji raised his sword blade horizontally on eye level, covering his away from the others, and finally lowered the blade down, unleashing a rasping, roaring glare which turned those who looked at him to stone. Suddenly half of the headhunters got stoned, and the rest backed away.

"Yasti, it's okay now...," but she was still covering her ears until he gave her a nudge. "But be prepared... I sense someone a lot more evil coming out-"
"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!" a loud, disdainful laughter emanated from the rear front seat (Author's Note: Hint hint? One of the few puns you may have difficulty catching if I didn't write this) of the sole pink Kijang. He looks to be the leader of this gang, thought Giontoji.
"What did I tell you? What did I write somewhere, huh? 'But don't you stay, stay, stay at Rasau, ha! ha!, 'cause the headhunters will come and CHOOOOP YOUR HEAD OOOOOOOOFFFFFFF...'," the headhunter leader steps out of the car and shows himself, reciting an old and obnoxious song. He turns out to be a familiar figure to Yasti...

"What the heck?!?!?!?" Yasti shouted. "Bro?"
"What did you say?" Giontoji enquired.
"He's my brother... Yasmi," she replied. "But... this is all mad. Where the heck am I?! Bro, why are you here?!"
"You see, I like to be the villain, it's risk-free," (Author's Note: >_>;) Yasmi shrugged, then took out his own scythe. "Now prepare to die!!!" he stepped forward, his remaining gang members accompanying him.
"Grrr... Yasmi! It's you who needs to prepare... to be petrified!" Giontoji performed his ultimate martial art again. "Ninpou, Kouga-ryuu! Basilisk Eyes!"

But Yasmi laughed hard as he took out something from his front pocket - a green hand-mirror! He aimed it at Giontoji, who saw his own reflection on it, and was instantly cast to stone.
"Bro!!!! What the heck did you do?!" Yasti looked at the rock-clad samurai statue.
"*sigh*... When that kind of technique gets to be done twice, everyone knows what happens next, you know. Now, boys, let's feast!!!"

Yasmi leapt, swinging his scythe, aimed at Yasti's neck.

"No! ... get away from me... GET AWAYYYYYYY!!!!"

Yasti shielded herself with her hands, at the moment the blade touched her neck.

The Sagittarius Ring sparkled, and glowed brighter... as bright as the full moon above...

"Whoa!!!" Yasmi's scythe was touching her skin, but it didn't penetrate. Instead, a translucent forcefield wraps around Yasti and pushes her assailant away.

Inside the forcefield, a change was about to happen. Yasti's body transformed into a mature one, her hair changed colour to a purplish tint, her yukata replaced by a regal, blue-white dress fit for a princess. Her brown eyes, in the dark of the night, then glowed blue...

"What in the world?!" Yasmi and his henchmen stared at the unraveling transformation sequence. What was a thin young girl with braces and a quirky but timid persona, was now a calm-headed, beautiful woman, so immense in nobility you can not help but kneel at the presence of her majesty.

"I am the Lunar Princess, Feena Fam Earthlight. In the name of my forefathers, my loyal subjects and the perpetual moonlight, I command you to surrender or face the consenquences!" Yasti, or Feena as she was now, posed.
"Moeeeee...*HACKCOUGHWHEEZE* Er... I mean... Of course not! A princess' head would be the crown jewel of my collection!!!" Yasmi made his own orders to his subordinates to surround and attack Feena.

"Hmph." As if dancing with a prince in a ballroom at the height of a royal feast, she avoided the deadly waves and strikes of her attackers with flair and finesse. "This is fun... but I'm afraid you're not good enough." She aimed a slow but sure chop at one of the assailants and struck him square on the forehead, astonishingly rendering him powerless, bringing him to his feet. She did the same to the rest with timed precision.

"Princess..." Yasmi coolly stepped forward, and the scenery changed to a windy one-on-one face-off.
"Accept your fate, and surrender," Feena said, and stared at his eyes.

His was wild with anger and a bit of amusement.
Hers was wild, too, but with the justice and passion of a deeply caring princess, true to her every word.

"Don't waste my time any further! Hell Strike!" Yasmi swung his scythe and struck it on the ground, creating a wave of fiery lava spewing towards Feena, who created a white forcefield to avoid it. Suddenly, he was nowhere in sight - he used his speed to appear in the air behind Feena.
"Whoops!" she sidestepped the dropping blade attack. Seizing a chance at the rebound caused by the fall, Feena shot white feather darts at him, but Yasmi was too fast and retreated.
"Your dress is encumbering you, princess!" he stated. "I can't imagine you running around and getting your crystal shoes dirty!"
"Do not mock me, underling!" With her powers, she created a light bow and arrow on thin air and aimed it at him. "This will be my final attack! May you be cleansed under the holy light of the Moon..."

Yasmi took the chance of Feena's long speech to distance himself from her. "(She looks to be weakening... I got only one shot of this...) Boomerang Death!" he then swung his scythe to such a speed, the blade detached from its handle and flew, speedily, in the air, on a wedged path, calculated to hit Feena by the side. "Ha! You're screwed, princess! Royally screwed!"

"Hm." She switched targets and eyed the fast and oncoming blade - no time to act! No time to get away! It all depends on this one final shot - her powers run out after this attack!

Feena steadies herself... and fires! "Divine Crescent Arrow!"
The arrow shot through the blade and smashed it to pieces.
Yasmi then moved forward. Feena lost a lot of her glow, she was wide open for this one!
"Die, princess... Huh?" he then felt something coming toward him. Well, it was too late - the crescent arrow stayed true to its path. It flew in a crescent pattern, which meant the arrow targeted Yasmi next!

"Gaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!" he felt a sharp pain on his head. He was defeated by the princess of his dreams.

Of his dreams...

...

"Ow," he rubbed his head, "Ouch... hit my head on the bed's corner again..." he sighed.
"Yasmi!!! Where are you, we need you down here, the party's starting!" a familiar voice, one Yasmi recognised as his mom's, shouted from downstairs.
"Okay, I'm coming!" he dressed, and got out of the room. "Oops, nearly forgot."

He retraced his steps to pick up the heart-shaped box lying on his desk. It was a birthday present for his little sister, whose birthday party was just gonna start downstairs.

What's inside, it's anyone's guess...

What I will miss when I go back to UBD

1) Doing nothing but chatting and eating everyday and wasting it in the process.

2) My queen-sized, stable bed. It doesn't make me feel like someday I'll crash down the floor unlike the one I have in the hostel.

3) Updating Winning Eleven 10 all day, refreshing the transfer page, playing my Master League, creating new players etc.

4) Ribena. I've never seen one at UBD.

5) Watching Astro INDON CHANNEL Aruna with my amah with the likes of Angin Tak Dapat Membaca and of course Kawin Gantung. Why is this as the bottom of the list? Because the male hostel canteen plays it all the time when it's open. Darn Indon waiters.

Annnnd the result iiiiiiis...

...as I expected. Why the crap I didn't learn my lesson last year, I don't really darn know. Or this was different, in which I really had no choice.

It didn't bring up my average too -_- I rely on my Japanese too much.

OK admit it now, who's the wise guy who also put Jose Mourinho drinking on their MSN?

*Japanese painter points at a yellow dot on his drawing* "...This is sun of beach."

Have I ever told you guys Lumut is currently having a makeover? Especially around the small streams and rivers. Since there's gonna be an influx of people staying here in the new Perpindahan, the geographical infrastructure needs to be in top-shape I guess. Lumut Beach is also getting dramatically changed. Soon the kids will get their asses off their PS3s and Wiis and come play at the beach like it was 20 years ago...

Speaking of the beach, finally went there after a long time recently. Like I said somewhere, you know you live in an oil-rich country when the sunset beach's horizon is just spoiled by that offshore oil rig.

UBD opens after next week... OK... maybe after 3 years of wanting to do this, I'll start having a kickabout in the afternoons like I always have done in PJN... problem is, do the football shirts I have even fit anymore.
