日本料理

Having been 8 years into the culture and language, you'd think I'm a veteran when it comes to their food. If I can mix my Japanese fandom with my football and gaming fanatism then why not my love for food, and especially in recent times when there are now Japanese restaurants and outlets in Brunei, as opposed to the old days when eating sushi could only be a dream I had.

But before I go on lemme tell you of a pet peeve of mine: I dislike it when people drive me out JUST to eat. It must've come from a bad memory I had when I was a selfish kid (like all kids, mind you), but I simply refuse to "force" people to move out just for my own want. That's also why I don't like telling others what I want, actually. Another related pet peeve is that if you take me to eat, you need to order and eat, yourself. Okay, I am fine eating alone, but that's when I'm only alone. I don't mind being stared at while eating, but I do mind when the person I'm with in that eatery, doesn't do what I'm doing.

Back to the topic. Even though there are Japanese restaurants around, they're outnumbered, more expensive and more crowded than other places in Brunei. There's also the social acceptance problem people here have in general (staying to eat at a few eateries, and the culture divide), which means, I couldn't get the chance to go to such places most of the time. It's sad, how I've been to Swensen and Damai Lounge and Solitude and Mister Pizza but never at Kura despite being on the same building and I won't ever get that chance anymore now that Kura is closed.

Usually I'm okay with this, but lately I had a seizure. I've only been to Escapade twice but each time I've been really astounded by what I ate. I just need more. To hell with this diet, all my damn trousers are too saggy for me to wear now, and this is just a month later. I'm sick of Bandar people who go out almost every week. I don't have a car to even practice driving with (not that I want to) and I don't think my mom would ever be taught or teach herself making Japanese food, despite her dorama fanatism and the loads of unread cookbooks she has.

So here is my offer for you which sounds the same like the pool thingie I did sometime ago: Starting today until 31 March should anyone be taking me to any Japanese restaurant to eat, the bill is entirely on me. Max once a day, twice a week, none of those buddy-cavalries for me to liek pay $200 on, and you need to eat too due to the two pet peeves described above.
