The Boyfriend Instinct

My fear of talking to girls that are taken have long been extensively documented. This is a major hindrance in my quest to becoming a full-fledged socialite.

They often say I have nothing to fear, and this phobia is ridiculous. But I only have the female friend's word that it'll be alright if I even try and talk to her. Most boyfriends are snappy and overprotective of their loved ones and I don't like that.

You know, I'm starting to think that this is a natural instinct, just like our sexual or predatorial ones. Think of all the mammals that are protective of their mates, animal courting is often a test of strength. So I should take this as a natural human trait, because even I feel a certain degree of wanting my girlfriend all by myself.

Of course as humans, most of us are smart enough to keep our wild instincts in check. The problem is that which boyfriends exercise this and which ones don't.
